FanJam at Jones Center
Families can travel back to 1800s Honolulu with FamJam: Joseph Kekuku and the Voice of the Steel Guitar at Jones Center in Springdale on Saturday, Oct 17, at 11a.
Follow the true story of 11-year-old Native Hawaiian Joseph Kekuku, whose accidental discovery with a railroad bolt helped create the steel guitar. Featuring live slide guitar and projections, the performance explores Hawaii’s history while tracing the instrument’s influence on Blues, Country, and Rock ’n’ Roll.
One ticket includes more than the performance. Families who attend will enjoy arts and culture, a themed craft, indoor ice skating, and swimming throughout the day. Tickets are $12 for the public and $10 for members.
